We have an exposition that gives a nice overview, considering the evaluations of this particular profession of clockmakers from 1700 till 1950.

In our beautiful buiding, built in 1600, you will find a complete overview of all clockmakers that have lived in Joure.

In the period from 1835 till 1860 there were 92 clockmakers in Joure. In this period they made 100.000 Frysian clocks. And they provided work for painters, copper-smiths and furnituremakers.

It's nice to see that a lot of clocks we restaure, sometimes after ages return to their "place-of-birth".
